ISA Curriculum Activity 4 - “Tribes of the Deserts and forests in India, UK & Australia”
This activity aims at allowing students of classes V & VI of the Daly College, India, Williamstown Primary School, Victoria, Australia and Peel Hall Primary School, Manchester, UK to collaborate and learn about life styles of tribes of each countries and their contribution to the present world.
This activity was initiated by presentations on the tribes of India. There were a series of presentations on the the Bhils, the Baiga tribe, the Banjara tribe and the Bodo tribe of the North East. Children researched on the selected tribes, mapped the location/ area, collected information, pictures on home, food, dress, weapons, customs and traditions, festivals, way of governance and prepared a scrap book. Scrapbooks made by our students on the above tribes were shared both with Williamstown Primary School, Victoria and Peel Hall Primary School, Manchester.
Collaborative activity with Williamstown Primary School, Victoria, Australia gave our students a chance to learn about the Aboriginals of Australia. We received presentations and information about the location, way of life, customs, food, role of the aboriginals and their contribution to the society. Presentations on the Bhils, the Baiga tribe , the Banjara tribe and the Bodo tribe of the North East were shared with Williamstown Primary School, Victoria.
