The Daly College Admission Policy (As per RTE rule)

 

We are expected to replicate at a micro level the composition of our nation, in terms of regional, ethnic, social, financial and professional diversity.

 

We are also committed to maintain a healthy balance of boys & girls. This would be pointless if we did not encourage parents to provide their daughter equal opportunity for a good education.   Equally we welcome the children of our old students, who are loyal, supportive and have played an important role in the growth and development of this institution. It is for this reason that on our Board of Governors sit representatives of the parents and of the Old Dalians. And it is for the above reasons that, admissions are based on a variety of factors.

 

As per the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act of Parliament, 25% of seats in our first intake class PKG is reserved for children of disadvantage groups in the neighbourhood. As per law this will be followed and, depending upon the level of financial support provided by the Government, the College reserves the right to balance costs by sharing the difference among all the other students in the school. This is because the primary source of our revenue is school fees. This surcharge will be at estimates of actuals as determined by the Board from time to time.

 

We would make admission from amongst those registered ensuring representation of different categories in propositions determined by the Board of Governors from time to time. Categories would be based on overseas, regional and professional considerations and also ensure a balance of boys and girls, representative numbers from original patron families, siblings, children of Old Dalians, children of Govermment officials, Defence officers and College staff.

 

 

The Daly College has admissions as per policy given below :

 

Main entry classes are PKG, LKG, Class I, Class IV, Class VI and Class IX. In other classes seats will be available only against vacancies.

 

Boys and Girls classes PKG to Class III (As Day Scholars).

 

Classes IV onwards (As Boarders only).

 

Last date for registration will be 1st October of the preceding year. Registration does not automatically entitle a child to admission. Registered children will go through the selection process as applications exceed vacancies. Application form is available on payment of Rs.500/-. Fill up the application, attach a copy of the Birth Certificate and enclose the D.D of Rs.10,000/- as registration fee. A late fee of Rs. 1000/- will be charged for registration made after 1st October.
