SKYPE SESSION – The Aboriginal Tribes of Australia
As part of the ISA Curriculum Activity 4, students of classes VI interacted with Mr. Martin Middleton from Australia through an interesting Skype session. Students put forth questions like – do the Aboriginals have the right to vote, what do they do for their livelihood, which part of Australia has the highest density and lowest density of tribal population and has modernization affected their lives.
The students learnt that the tribes of Australia speak more than 100 languages. The tribes also worship nature, animals etc. Mr. Martin told the students that the aboriginals have the right to vote and the government provides them employment, education facilities. The aboriginals like to eat fish, kangaroo and ostrich meat and most of the aboriginal population was concentrated in the southern part of Australia.
